My Declaration as a Manga Artist:
“How I plan on helping others in the future

My intentions are not solely based on helping improving someone’s intellect, or assisting them in perfecting their physical skills. Something so shallow as that can sometimes fade away as the years pass. But, what I plan to do to help others goes much further than that. It digs deep into their core, into their very essence of being. I plan to improve the souls of those who read my future comic books. While this may seem a very discouraging, laughable task to presume, I take it very seriously.

Sometimes a single day can change one’s entire lifestyle. I still remember to this day how my favorite movie completely changed my soul around for the better. ‘If only I could harness that power over someone to help his or her heart on the inside,’ I told myself. It takes genius to turn someone’s life around, and ‘genius’ is the title I plan to achieve. By perfecting my own work, I am also helping other by letting them know that yes, they can still hope. And, yes, their dreams really can come true. Most kids today have lost all hope for a change in this rambunctious society full of images like the rich, successful actors, paper-thin models, want to-be thugs and the half dressed women who accompany them; all this glitz, glamour and glory, but nothing to give them a shred of hope to become something better. No one ever says that yeah, in the real world, the chances of you to become like them are one in a million. No one ever tells them that even if they do become rich and famous one day, it won’t guarantee them happiness. Who ever knew that a mere comic book could deliver this message?

And with each new generation, it’s getting worse. Children’s programs aren’t as high quality as they were in years past. Schoolteachers are caring less and less about their students with each dying day. Even the parents, who are supposed to be the ones responsible to raise their kids with the right attitude, are basically ignoring their issues because their own lives have become too distressing. With all of this negativity gearing kids toward the wrong direction, they need an inspiration, a new hope. I plan to be their knight in shining armor (speaking figuratively, of course). I plan to help them by providing them with the right incentive to live a better life and find their own sense of happiness. These children’s lives are not a waste. Sure, the media can oftentimes mislead them, and yes, the public can fight back by putting some ‘good influences’ on them. But, if the world just continues to mechanically deliver this garbage to our growing future (especially just for the money), all that effort would be for naught. Without some soul behind our children’s programs, this world is going nowhere fast. I plan to help by giving them something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
